This 1,750 Megawatt Natural Gas Electric Generating Facility is under
development on a site adjacent to the Greenville, Texas, city limits. The
generating facility will be one of the largest combined cycle gas-fired
generators in Texas. It will be a twin to our last project in
Forney which came on
line in 2003 and supplies approximately 9% of the electricity for Dallas
and Ft. Worth.
The plant will use natural gas, the cleanest
available fuel today and will utilize best available control technology (BACT). Natural gas will be delivered into the plant through
underground pipelines.
The generating facility will
supply the Dallas/Ft. Worth area load growth starting in 2012. Construction is expected to begin in 2009.
Construction of the project
will take approximately three years.
